Two Rector girls are among officers of the Williams Educators Organization (WEO) at Williams Baptist College in Walnut Ridge. Sarah Simpson was chosen as secretary/treasurer of the organization and Nikki Carpenter as vice president. Elected as WEO president was Tonya Hutsell of Hoxie. WEO is comprised of students majoring in education at WBC. Hutsell will be a senior next year at WBC. She is majoring in mid-level math, science and social studies education. She is married to Lanny Hutsell and is the daughter of David Connor of Sedgwick and the late Patricia Ruth Connor. Carpenter and Simpson both will be juniors next year majoring in early childhood education. Carpenter is the daughter of Steve and Gina Carpenter, while Simpson is the daughter of Danny and Terry Simpson. WEO provides a support group for education students at WBC, as well as an outlet for community service. The Williams Teacher Education Program offers eight different majors in the field of education.
